Jacob Watkins

Paraplanner / Advisor Assist

Jake, from a young age, has been fascinated by how things work. He would go out to the garage and take apart machines and parts just to see how they would work, then successfully put them back together, most of the time. As he grew up, that inclination would stretch to the academic realm. This has continued to the present. He has the same inclinations towards his studies in the Personal Financial Planning degree in UVU’s Business School.

Jake loves playing lacrosse, adult softball, Jiu Jitsu, and mountain biking in his free time. He also loves to listen to books and can always be caught listening to books in the car and around his apartment.

What is your favorite movie?

The Lord of the Rings trilogy extended editions (I count them as one very long movie).

What was your favorite vacation?

Israel. My family and I went for my senior trip, and it was amazing to see the sights and cultures there. However, nothing can beat Moab, Utah, for a simple weekend trip.

What is your favorite quote?

“A journey will have pain and failure. It is not only the steps forward that we must accept. It is the stumbles. The trials. The knowledge that we will fail. That we will hurt those around us. But if we stop, if we accept the person we are when we fail, the journey ends. That failure becomes our destination.” Brandon Sanderson
